On Dec. 1, two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Georgia. The accident occurred on southbound I-75 in Dooly County at approximately 10 p.m.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, its Cordele post initially received reports of a disabled Toyota Camry in the far right lane of the highway. However, by the time officers responded to the scene, three other vehicles had struck the car. The first, a Chevy Impala, struck the Camry from behind. This collision killed both the Camry driver, a 77-year-old man from Jacksonville, Fla., and the unidentified male driver of the Impala. A Ford Expedition then struck both cars, followed by a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer failed to stop and fled the scene.
A passenger in the Camry, who was identified as the driver’s wife, was injured in the crash and transported to Crisp Regional Hospital for treatment. The Expedition driver was also injured and taken to the same hospital. Both victims were later listed in stable condition. The police said they didn’t know why the Camry broke down on the highway.
